░ Makeup Haul (September) ░

Hello everyone! I finally went shopping for makeup today after a long long while... Consider this my end-of-September haul. So the first few I got was Ever Bilena matte lipsticks. I absolutely cannot emphasize how much I love EB's matte lipsticks. You all know how I love EB in Mauvey. I have Mauvey and Pink Flame at the moment; and now I've added Storm and Off Beat Pink to the set! I am very much looking forward to collecting more of EB's matte lipsticks since the colors are really great. Interesting and without a doubt beautiful. P125.00 per lipstick.

I don't have any swatches to show you yet, but I'll definitely be posting them soon enough. The only con about this is the bottom part of the container (showing the actual color of the lipstick). It often breaks off, so I recommend gluing it together.
Do you remember me saying that I will be doing an Anime Eyes Makeup Tutorial (by Miss Jessica Harlow)? This is the primary reason why I hunted for good liquid liners. I kept swatching on the back of my left hand, trying to see which one would best fit the task. Nichido's Liquid Liner is tried and tested for me since I've used it before. It doesn't dry glossy like Ever Bilena's. Nevertheless, I was satisfied with all the liners I swatched. In the end I opted to go with Nichido. P68.00 in all leading Watsons Stores.

I was trying to find good gel eyeliners since I always wanted to buy one since they became such a craze. I tried look over at E.l.f.'s section but the saleslady disappointed me. She did not know anything about the product. And the brush that came with the gel liner she showed me was all scratchy and deformed! I left the area as soon as that happened. I went over to Fanny Serrano's section and was informed that they were out of stock. Just dandy... Whenever I plan to buy the gel liner from FS, they always run out of it. Last resort was Maybelline's Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in 01 Black. I was like, "What the heck, why not?" I've fallen in love with this gel eyeliner since the moment I laid eyes on it. I got it for P449.00.

The eyeliner brush that came with it.

I've been hunting for good eyeliner brushes for quite a while now and I experienced the funniest regarding this matter today. I asked the lady who was assigned in a particular cosmetics department if they carry any eyeliner brush. She wore a totally puzzled look and asked me what that was. She demanded it was called an eyebrow brush, but I insisted on the eyeliner brush. I ended up walking away, frustrated, but amused. It's disappointing how little they know about cosmetics, considering it's their job handling them. There was also this saleslady who told me that an eyeliner brush is for BLENDING. Uh... I don't think that's correct. And yes, that saleslady was from Fanny Serrano. Fanny Serrano is a renowned makeup artist and owner of Fanny Serrano cosmetics. His brushes cost more that 100/200++ per piece. I found the perfect eyeliner brush from FS, and I got it for P200.00. It is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to use it.

I am slowly running out of blush and so I ran back to E.l.f. to get my favorite Natural Radiance Blusher shade, "Shy". You may have seen me use this a couple of times. This is the perfect cheek color for me. I got it for P129.75. Oh, and I totally love the new packaging! Design-wise.

I grabbed a bottle of makeup remover from Maybelline (P99.00) and my favorite Hello Kitty Wipes (not in the photo) before finally leaving the mall. That end my End-of-September Haul! Please stay tuned to the Anime Eyes Halloween Tutorial! I'll be keeping you guys posted. ♥

░ Beauty Tutorial: Elle October 2010 UK Cover Kate Hudson ░

Hey guys! I uploaded a new tutorial. A few days back, I was trying to get inspiration and came across Pixiwoo's tutorial (Nic, in particular). I decided to recreate her recreation of the look Sharon Dowsette did on Kate Hudson for the OCT 2010 Elle Cover in UK.
I made the look more wearable. Less intense than what you actually see on the cover and that of Nic's. I'm going to attach an embed of Nic's tutorial to compare.
Here's the list of the products I mainly used in the video:
1. DollFace 88 Earth Tone Palette
2. DollFace 96 Color Palette
Order here: http://www.dollfacecosmetics.com.ph
As for the other products, you can always use what you already have. In my case, I used the usual products:
1. Foundation: Maybelline Aqua Gel Foundation in True Beige and
Nichido Foundation Stick in Beige
2. Setting Powder: Maybelline Shine Free Face Powder in Honey with SPF18
3. Eye Pencil: Nichido Eye Pencil in Deep Plum
4. Lip Color: Ever Bilena Lipstick in Mauvey
5. Lip Gloss: MAC Dazzleglass Lip Glaze in Like Venus
6. Mascara: Nichido Lash Defining Mascara
7. Brushes: Marionnaud Foundation Brush and Nichido Kabuki Brush. (regular, unbranded eyeshadow brushes used)
Here's the tutorial. I hope you enjoy watching!
Oh, and please support UrbanGermany! I used his amazing music for my video.
Check his amazing covers here:

Here's the outcome of the Kate Hudson look I recreated.

░ Beauty Tutorial: Concealing and Foundation Routine ░

I have finally put up my concealing & foundation routine. A subscriber of mine under the username "Ellainne1515" requested this video. This tutorial will show you how I actually do my concealing and foundation application on a daily basis. At times I skip the concealing part, (especially during the last months when I was still using Revlon PhotoReady) but now I had to switch back to Maybelline Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation since I didn't want to risk trying other foundations as I have mentioned in my recent post.
Maybelline Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation totally dries up fast. As you can see in the video, I warmed the product on the back of my hand and when I was done with the first half of my face, the product left on the back of my hand dried up already. I had to get more of it and apply in quick, swift motions, carefully blending everything so that I get an even coverage. Nevertheless, I love this foundation. I used my Marionnaud N°33 Foundation-Font de teint Brush for application. I hate how the brushes get deformed after a couple times of use. Watch closely in the video and you'll see what I mean.
Nichido's Foundation Stick in Beige cost me P150.00. I bought it recently from Watsons, and this is the only time I've used it again since the last 4-5 years! Yes, it has been that long. You must be careful on applying this product since we don't want any caking to take place. Apply in feathery strokes, lightly. I used my new Marionnaud N°34 Concealer Brush (Anti-Cernes) for application. What does anti-cernes mean? It means "UNDER-EYE" in French. I am loving this brush, and I will do a review as soon as I can.
For setting the foundation, I used my favorite Nichido Kabuki Brush and Maybelline Clear Smooth Powder Foundation in Honey.
So that's how I do my concealing and foundation. I hope this video helps you in any way.

░ Update: Bye, Revlon PhotoReady Makeup! ░

My Revlon PhotoReady Makeup has run out already...  Approximately 2 ½ months of use. I want to repurchase, but I want to give the other foundations a try. Hunting for new and better foundations this time. The "pump-style" bottle of Revlon's PhotoReady Makeup is just too disadvantageous--you'll never know when it's gonna run out.
