░ Tag Video: 41 Beauty Q's ░

So this is the eight vlog that I've uploaded in just (1) day. I hope you enjoy watching/reading this. It's another one of those tag videos where you answer Q's about whatever topic it is about.
Here goes..

Four time. When I wake up. When I take a bath. In the Afternoon. Before I go to bed.

░ Tag Video: Desk Tour ░

Since I share this room with my sisters and my mom, I cannot do a room tour video, so I figured, why not share my little corner in this room? So in this vlog you'll see me point out the stuff on my table. This table actually belongs to my mom. We share it. I do most of my work on this desk. Many projects and papers have been accomplished on this table! If it looks vintage to you, well you are not mistaken. This table has been existing since the 1970's. So basically, I have my cork board, where I pin all food menus, makeup brochures and photos. You will see a photo of my mom and dad, and another photo of Paulo who looked really young! That was his "creative" shot for graduation. I keep my skincare products and shaving products on top of my table--but of course, as you would see in the video, I keep them aligned in this weird way. I don't know. I'd spend 10 minutes just to make them look "ALIGNED VERY WELL" and won't stop until I get it right. I also place my traincase on top. Pencil cases, my temporary makeup brush box, my lipstick box, the mirror stand which you wouldn't see in the video since I placed it on the bed earlier... I keep everything on top, even my toothbrush and my toothpaste! Weird, huh? I love this little space of mine.

░ Random Vlog: In the Vernacular--UST's 400th Year Celebration ░

Just a short vlog with me relating the happenings during my university's 400th Year Celebration on the night of January 27th. A subscriber requested me to do a vlog speaking in the vernacular, and I didn't have any topic in mind, so I figured I might as well share the things that happened during the big event.

░ Tag Video: This or That (Beauty Related) ░

❤ Tag video from: Elle Fowler

THIS OR THAT TAG Q's:
►Blush or bronzer
Blush, since I'm not really into bronzers. I'd be more than happy to have flushed cheeks rather than contoured cheeks.

►Lip gloss or lipstick

Lipstick, since a lot of lipsticks nowadays already has those glossy finish. So it's like 2 in 1! Besides, I'm not a huge fan of lip gloss.

►Eye liner or mascara

Eyeliner. Because it really really makes a HUGE difference in the appearance of the eyes. I can do without mascara. All I really need is a lash curler which will curl up my lashes really well, and I'm all set.

►Foundation or concealer

Concealer. I've been using concealer more often now over foundation. Concealer is light, and gives that right coverage. Something you'd wanna go for for everyday use. Just top it off with powder foundation, and voila.

►Neutral or color eye shadow

I'd go for color E/S since I'm not really crazy about neutrals. They look bland for me. My personality doesn't fit neutrals very well. I'm all about purple!

►Pressed or loose eye shadows

Definitely pressed. Loose ones just go all over the place.

►Brushes or sponges

Brushes. I'm not totally comfortable with using sponges, even sponge-tip applicators when applying makeup. It's become a habit of mine to use brushes. So that's it.

░ Tag Video: Would You Rather (Beauty Edition) ░

Tag video from: Sarah Walker

❤ WOULD YOU RATHER Q's:
1.Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up?

I'd go for the first one since messy hair for me can be pulled off as a chic hairstyle!

2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?

I'd choose having my eyelashes fall out since we have false eyelashes to remedy the horrific situation. But the brows, my goodness the brows don't have any substitute!

3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?

MAC, because I've never been to Sephora. We don't have it in the PH.

4.Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?

Lipgloss!

5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

Obvious foundation line since overdone blush would look a hundred times more ghastly.

6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?

MC Hammer Pants since I don't have the courage to wear biker shorts until I get my thighs toned up a little bit more.

7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?

Tan line that can't be covered. I don't want to look orange! This Q doesn't really apply to Filipinos. We don't tan ourselves.

8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?

Bad haircut.

9.Would you rather have youtube or twitter taken away forever?

Twitter.

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?

Makeup brushes since we have our fingers as substitute.

░ Lindsay Loves: Non-foldable Handbag Hook ░

Q: What are "Lindsay Loves" posts?
Just for the information of everyone, my real name is Lindsay. Starting today, I'll be posting random "Lindsay Loves" posts which will basically feature the things I have recently found out about and am currently loving to bits! I just felt it would be proper to share them to you so as to be of help to those who might want the same things as well.
I've been a religious reader of Cecile Van Straten's blog from the moment I laid eyes on it. I found out about Clipa because of her. (Read about Cecile's post in here.) I was browsing through the new stuff displayed at Wellmanson's (located at Villalobos Street Quiapo, Manila where a lot of cheap and great finds can be found) and to my surprise, there was a stand of handbag hooks very much similar to the Clipas. If you check the site of Clipa, you'd notice how sleek it looks and how it can be pulled off as a bangle and such. This handbag hook however, doesn't do that. It doesn't even look like a bangle! Nevertheless, it functions as well. All I really need is something to keep my bag off the dirty floor
Here are instances:

  • You are so maarte but you just can't pull another chair just for your bag in the classroom primarily because no one can do that unless the seat next to yours is vacant, and you end up putting your bag on the floor instead.
  • You're in the rest room. You look around, and being the neat freak and maarte person that you are, you find everything dirty. Now you have this huge bag with you, and you really have to go. Where do you place your huge bag? Lucky for you, if the cubicle has a hook for bags, but if it doesn't? Two choices, the floor--or carry it while you do your thing.

Can you relate? If yes, the handbag hook is the answer to all your needs.
After seeing the hooks two days ago, I knew I had to get them. So this afternoon, after being a maid and cleaning the house (which is, by the way, getting too tiring for me already--probably because I was housekeeping on an empty stomach), I went to Wellmansons to purchase the handbag hooks (along with a Marge Simpson Sleeping Eye Mask, Eiffel Tower earrings, and a neat-looking ring).
I mainly want to share the greatness of this Handbag Hook. You can use this hook in numerous ways! In restrooms, in church, in classrooms, restaurants, cafes, gyms, etc... The possibilities are endless! I am definitely enjoying mine. I picked the butterfly-shaped ones since they are the most sophisticated looking among the selection.

░ Beauty Tutorial: Inspired by Jessica Biel's Ad for Revlon Fire & Ice Collection ░

After a short series of vlog entries, I am back with another tutorial. My sisters bought the latest copy of the OK! Philippines magazine and on the last page you will be seeing Jessica Biel's ad for Revlon's Fire and Ice Collection. Since I bought the same lipstick a month ago, I figured, this would make a good tutorial. By the way, Jessica was advertising the Vintage-Inspired Collection, and this made me say that maybe the collection is out already! The Fire and Ice Lipstick I bought was the one in the regular lipstick case. You should see the limited edition one--the case is to die for, well at least for me.
Please use the photo below as a reference. The inspiration came from the ad, as you can very much see. I tried my best to replicate the look. Using the same lip color made it much easier to capture the essence of the look.
The list of products will be posted down below.

I have finally finished creating my business cards! This will be the official design of my card. I have about 20 printed samples which I will be giving away to close friends, clients and family. The final and official look will hopefully come out before February 2011.

░ Update: Makeup Collection and Storage ░

This has been requested a lot by my readers and subscribers. I never really had the time to film a vlog since I was too preoccupied with coming up with new beauty tutorials. Today, however, gave me the chance to sit in front of my Cybershot W130 and my tripod and SPEAK; primarily because all my makeup brushes were filthy and I did not intend on using them for a tutorial just for the sake of doing so. And so now, without further blabbing, let me introduce to you my Makeup Collection and StorageI hope you have fun watching this.

░ Update: Crest Toothpaste Available in Manila ░

After having a lunch date with my momma @ The French Baker today, we hit the supermarket. She was paying some bills when I just roamed around with my push cart, getting the things we needed to buy. I never miss the section where they keep all the products related to hygiene.
Imagine my surprise when I see a whole shelf stacked with CREST TOOTHPASTE!
I've been lemming on this product (even the toothpaste, not just the whitening strips) ever since I learned that Jarmaine of JlovesMac1 uses this to whiten her teeth.
Same goes with Judy of ItsJudyTime.
I actually asked one of my best friends abroad to buy a pack of Crest WhiteStrips for me but now that the toothpaste is available, I'm pretty sure they're gonna come out with the strips soon! I'm confident that they will. I am incredibly glad about this.
There was about 5 to 8 variants of Crest toothpaste displayed. Believe me when I say I stood in front of the shelf for a good 15 minutes just to decide which type to buy.
Comparing and contrasting has never been so much fun.
I ended up buying "Crest Toothpaste Baking Soda & Peroxide Whitening with Tartar Protection". For a single box of 181g, this cost P189.75.
Not the regular price you'd pay for a toothpaste,
but when you have wants, you just need to satisfy.
I used it for the first time when I got home. This doesn't promise "WHITER TEETH AFTER JUST ONE BRUSH" (Does this line ring a bell?) so I'm giving it a little more than 'just one brush'. I'm giving this product a good two weeks before making an actual review on it.
I'm also going to minimize drinking coffee, or anything with caffeine in it--or at least use a straw while doing so.
I don't have a perfect set of teeth, it's quite an obvious sight to see! A lot of improvements to be made. I've never had braces before. I have a couple of teeth that needs to be pulled out from the upper teeth area (?) because they are getting crowded, hence the "hiding behind the teeth beside me" action of my tooth in my upper right teeth area. I do not know the terms for these things, but I'm pretty sure you're getting me.
No photos (of the teeth). I embarrass easily.
Especially considering this is one of by biggest insecurities.
That's it for this update, ladies and gentlemen!
We'll be putting Crest into the microscope two weeks from today.

"Crest Toothpaste Baking Soda & Peroxide Whitening with Tartar Protection".
For a single box of 181g, this cost P189.75.

░ Beauty Tutorial: Lauren Conrad Inspired Look "Style" ░

I have always been a fan of Lauren Conrad since Laguna Beach Season One. That was one of my most favorite "reality" shows back then! When my sister bought her book "Style" a few days ago, I was hit with inspiration. I didn't hesitate to schedule a filming session featuring the look Lauren Conrad wore on the book cover.
I wanted to capture majority of the look, if not all. I started with the replication of the top, wide bun. I was really glad I was able to copy the bun in a perfectly imperfect way in just a matter of 7 seconds. I skipped the tutorial on that since I wanted to focus on the makeup.
  1. You would not see me do it in the beginning of the video, but I applied Celeteque Facial Moisturizer all over my face prior to the application of any makeup.
  2. Using my Maybelline AngelFit Perfect Concealer 02, I conceal all my blemishes and dark circles. I have a lot of breakouts at the moment, including the time when I filmed this look, hence the numerous dot-concealing that I did in the video. Using Dollface's Foundation (but I prefer it be a concealer brush) Brush, I blended the concealer out.
  3. Using a sponge, I applied Maybelline Aqua Gel Foundation in True Beige all over my face using small dabbing and blending strokes so as to achieve that "almost-airbrushed" finish.
  4. I used my Dollface Powder Brush and Maybelline Clear Smooth Extra Powder Foundation to set the foundation in on my face.
  5. Next thing I did was apply an E/S which is a shade lighter than my skin tone on the under-eye area just to conceal the darkness even more. Late nights are to blame.
  6. Redefining the brows. I used my favorite black brown E/S from my Dollface 88 Earth Color Palette. *I am aware that I did not do a great job redefining my brows in this tutorial (even the past tutorials), nevertheless I just would like to let everyone know that I am making the necessary adjustments and further improvements to change my method.*
  7. Selecting a pearlized cream E/S from my Dollface 88 Earth Color Palette, I applied this all over the lids and the brow bone area.
  8. Using a black eyeshadow from the same palette and my Live Beautiful Eyeliner Brush, I created an outline on the lashline, tapering the end out just a bit.
  9. Using Maybelline's Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Black, I used the same brush and went over the outline I drew earlier.
  10. I applied false lashes using tweezers for better manipulation. Lash Grip was used as lash glue.
  11. I applied E.l.f.'s Defining and Lengthening Mascara to kind of make the real and fake lashes clump together.
  12. Using Nichido's Cream Blush in Mocha Souffle and Dollface Cosmetics' Blush Brush, I applied it right across my cheekbones.
  13. Lip balm used was Nivea's Star Fruits in Strawberry, and the lip color I used was Ever Bilena's Matte lipstick in Skin.
You will basically end up with a pretty natural looking face--giving an exception to the eyes, of course. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment down below. Scroll down to view more photos.
