Neutrogena Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration (Day 5 of 5)

day 55
Today is May 30, 2011 (Monday) I’m on my 5th and final day of the Neutrogena Challenge!
Here is the list of the skin-dehydrating activities I did today:

  • NOTHING!!!

You know why? I clocked in 10 hours of sleep today, I did not stress about anything at all (I tried hard not to), I had a decent lunch (egged oatmeal, tuna steak and tuna flakes), I did not expose myself to the sun since I did not go out at all today, and I did not drink any coffee! I turned off the A/C this afternoon because it was too cold (it was raining outside)! So I think it’s off the list!
Can you say “Yey!”? Not really! These skin dehydrating activities all depend on how my days are going. We cannot really say that we won’t be doing any of these activities all the days of our lives! That’s why there’s Neutrogena to the rescueeee!!!
I am ecstatic to try out the newest from Neutrogena! Stay tuned for my review about it.
Now I have finished my challenge. You still have until June 12th to finish yours!
To join the Neutrogena 5-Day Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration, go through (5) days of observing what skin dehydrating activities you do and how your skin feels for each day, fill out this form on your 5th day and submit.
By joining, you have the chance to win the latest product from Neutrogena!
The NEUTROGENA GIVEAWAY will end on June 12, 2011 at 11:00PM (Monday)

Neutrogena Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration (Day 4 of 5)

day 5

Today is March 29, 2011 (Sunday) Fourth day of my 5-Day Neutrogena Challenge!

Here are the skin dehydrating activities I did today:

  1. Skimping on sleep—I slept at 5:00AM because I needed to blog. I had to clarify a few things regarding my giveaways! Oh and because of skimping on sleep, my skin is breaking out!!!
  2. Stressing over work—I think #1 explains this.
  3. Staying in an air-conditioned room—Always!!! This cannot be helped.
  4. *Hanging out inside the coffee shop—I was in there for like 10 minutes to get gelato. I don’t think this counts! The gelato I ordered had Cookies and Cream and Straciatella. Does Straciatella have caffeine in it? I better consult Google…. (OKAY SO IT DOESN’T HAVE CAFFEINE! It is an Italian-style Chocolate Chip Ice Cream)

I didn’t skip lunch, I didn’t have any coffee, I didn’t expose myself to the sunlight since there was no sun at all today (RAIN RAIN RAIN!) All in all, 3 skin dehydrating activities today!

I think they’re here to stay!!! Especially #2 and #3.

I’m almost done with my challenge! How about you?

P.S. I received the package from Neutrogena already! Maybe this will get you in the mood to take the challenge and have the chance to win it!IMG_0736To join the Neutrogena 5-Day Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration, go through (5) days of observing what skin dehydrating activities you do and how your skin feels for each day, fill out this form on your 5th day and submit.

Changes: Neutrogena Giveaway & My 20th Birthday Giveaway

Good morning, everyone! I apologize for constantly changing the mechanics for my giveaways, but I really have to do a few modifications. Please take time to read this post very well as I try to explain as clearly as possible.
My Neutrogena Giveaway (where you have to answer the question: “How did you come across my blog/s and what do you like most about it/them?) originally had the newest product from Neutrogena as the prize, while the Neutrogena: Defy Skin Dehydration 5-Day Challenge requires you to go through 5 days of skin-dehydrating activity-observation for you to be able to win something from me.
After a few days of reviewing the submitted entries and contemplating, I finally reached the decision to require all those who want to win the latest product from Neutrogena (and be the one among the firsts to try it out) to go through the 5-Day Challenge. I want to make sure that the people who will join this giveaway sponsored by Neutrogena will prove and show to me that they deserve to win it by going through the challenge. (The mechanic is clearly more relevant to the prize, right?)
All you need is (5) DAYS! Just observe if you’ve done any dehydrating skin activities (drinking coffee, staying in an air conditioned room, skipping lunch, stressing over work, staying under the sun, hanging out in coffee shops, skimping on sleep) and briefly tell me about it. If you want any reference, I am currently on Day 3 of my challenge. You can view my post here. You just have to complete this form right here and submit on your 5th day! Everything you need is on the form that I created.
OKAY OKAY OKAY! I know you’re going to ask me, “What about the entry I submitted??? (answering the question: How did you come across my blog…) You don’t have to worry! You’re automatically entered in my 20th Birthday Giveaway! Now, see here, I’ve screen-capped everyone who has entered since the day this giveaway opened. If you still want to win the newest product from Neutrogena, you have to go through the challenge (see: paragraph before this one) However, if you feel content in joining my 20th Birthday Giveaway instead, you can choose to not do the challenge anymore. (PLEASE CLICK TO ENLARGE)
comment1-horz
I am giving ample time for everyone to adjust to these changes because I know it is my own responsibility to do so. (1) ONE WINNER WILL BE RANDOMLY SELECTED VIA http://classtools.net/ (make sure you comply with all the requirements in the form!)
The NEUTROGENA GIVEAWAY will end on June 12, 2011 at 11:00PM (Monday) this gives you May 29-June 12 to complete the challenge (which just takes 5 days!) I am giving 15 days to everyone else who wants to enter (including the people on the photo above). I’m pretty sure 15 days is enough, darlings.
Read on…

Neutrogena Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration (Day 3 of 5)

day 3

Today is May 28, 2011 (Saturday) I’m on my third day! Two days to go…

How did I dehydrate my skin today? Let me count the ways…

  • Staying in an air conditioned room—as I’ve said in my Day 2 entry, this will never be off the list! I did some online work before heading off to play volleyball this afternoon.
  • Stressing over work—as I am writing this I am feeling so stressed out! Why? You’ll find out in my next post.

I didn’t have any caffeine-intake today, nor did I expose my skin to the sunlight (it was raining the whole day!) I had a wonderful lunch, so skipping lunch is off the list.

2 out of 7! I hope I can reach 0 out of 7 by day 5, but I’m not betting on it!

What day are you on?

To join the Neutrogena 5-Day Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration, go through (5) days of observing what skin dehydrating activities you do and how your skin feels for each day, fill out this form on your 5th day and submit.

By joining, you have the chance to win something!

Neutrogena Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration (Day 2 of 5)

day 2

Today is May 27, 2011, Friday. Day 2 of my 5-Day Neutrogena Challenge.
Here are the skin dehydrating activities I did today:

Stressing over work: Maybe not work, but stressing over things in general! I was working out earlier, and after finishing a whole set of tiring intervals, I realized I forgot to keep track of my reps. So I had to do it all over again (because I’m trick with myself like that) I believe that’s a form of stress, too, right? And then I joined a blogging contest, and I had rules to follow! I was stressing about the words I used, the dimensions of the photos, the grammar, and everything else a blogger can stress about! Hoo boy!

Staying in an Air Conditioned Room: I think this will always be included in my list, since usually after my workout and my night shower, I head to our room and proceed with online work!

2 skin dehydrating activities today. I improved by -2! How about you?

To join the Neutrogena 5-Day Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration, go through (5) days of observing what skin dehydrating activities you do and how your skin feels for each day, fill out this form on your 5th day and submit.

By joining, you have the chance to win something!

Neutrogena Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration (Day 1 of 5)

day 1

Today is May 26, 2011 (Thursday) Day 1 of my 5-Day Neutrogena Challenge.

The skin dehydrating activities I did today…
Skimped on sleep: I slept at 5:00AM and woke up at 9:00AM—four (4) hours of sleep is barely enough! I had to wake up at 9 since I enrolled in UST today! My eyes were so puffy when I opened them…lack of sleep, what else?! When I was doing my makeup this morning, the area around my nose was super dry. I used my Celeteque moisturizer for my face, but it didn’t make the flakes go away around that area.

Stressing over work: The reason why I stayed up till 5:00AM is that I’ve been working on my blogs, prizes to ship out, events in the upcoming days… I am one freakazoid when it comes to being OC. I stress over the littlest things—which explains my zits at the moment (PMS, stress, hormones and all that women-problem)

Drinking coffee: I did not have coffee today, but I did drink Yogurt Latte Smoothie—which has caffeine in it!
Staying in an air conditioned room: After finishing my workout at 5:30PM, I had my usual night shower and dinner. And now I’m sitting here, doing online stuff (blogging, editing, updating…) with the A/C turned up high.
Today, I did 4 skin dehydrating activities. How about you?
To join the Neutrogena 5-Day Challenge: Defy Skin Dehydration, go through (5) days of observing what skin dehydrating activities you do and how your skin feels for each day, fill out this form on your 5th day and submit. By joining, you have the chance to win something!

Giveaway: Win Something from Neutrogena!

01-Outer EnvelopeSo yesterday (May 23, 2011) I had the privilege to attend the Neutrogena Dinner @ MoMo Café with fellow bloggers and the Neutrogena Team. Over dinner, we talked about dehydration of the skin. Are you guilty of it? You may be, but you don’t know it! Read on to find out if you are…06-Brochure
If you do most of these things, then surprise, surprise! You are guilty as charged. I didn’t think that some of these daily activities could even cause it! For example: skipping meals? hanging out in coffee shops? Odd, but true!
  • Caffeine apparently sucks moisture of of your skin and magnifies flaws such as wrinkles.
  • Skipping meals lead to deficiency of skin-friendly vitamins and minerals which drains the skin.
  • STRESS!!! Stressed skin doesn’t absorb skin care benefits as well as relaxed skin!
  • Air conditioners can draw out a huge amount of moisture from your skin, causing it to get dehydrated.
  • Lack of sleep causes the body to produce more stress hormones, causing dull and dehydrated skin.
With all those revelations, I know most of you are worrying now. I was particularly alarmed when I read “Skimping on Sleep”! And to think for the past few weeks all I could ever notice about my skin is how freaking dry it is! Dryness that even my current Celeteque Moisturizer (with Triple Moisturizing System) can’t even cure. Honestly.

Neutrogena gave us, the bloggers, the opportunity to be one of the firsts, among everyone else nationwide and even before the product officially gets to the market, to try out Neutrogena’s newest product that will combat DRYNESS—which is like really cool!

But what’s even way cooler is that they are giving a +1 for each of us! Meaning, I’d be able to giveaway (1) one product to (1) one lucky reader of my blog/s (Makeup by Say Tioco Artillero & Je m’appelle Say) and be part of the first few people to try out Neutrogena’s newest product before it even becomes available for public purchasing!

Edit 5/29/11:

All you have to do is: Go through the 5-Day Neutrogena Challenge. I want to make sure that the people who will join this giveaway sponsored by Neutrogena will prove and show to me that they deserve to win it by going through the challenge.

All you need is (5) DAYS! Nail It! Salon Branch Opening @ Greenhills

May 21, 2011 (Saturday)IMG_0170I was invited weeks ago to the branch opening of Nail It! Salon at Greenhills by Jariss Manlapas—a blogger and a stylist. I'’ve worked with her before during a photography class in CSB where I did the makeup for the models. Jariss totally looked beautiful in her outfit, she was very welcoming and sweet! Sabrina (MissCoryPotts) made it to the event, and she was my gossip buddy that night! She’s still the same wacky Sab I met back in the Beauty Bloggers’ Meet Up in Metro Manila. We totally had a great chat about everything!DSC01947IMG_0127-horzThe opening actually ran a little late according to Jariss because of the catering, and we were already having our nails done when the ribbon cutting and blessing ceremony went on. I decided to treat my sisters and Sabrina since they had 50% off each—considering the promo for that day. I only had to pay P270.00  for the three of them. I really had fun chatting with Sabrina while getting our nails done. She’s the funniest person you can ever meet. I feel extremely comfortable when I’m with her! She's one of those people who I already felt a connection with even before we met. IMG_0102-horzIMG_0103-horzIMG_0110-horzIMG_0121-horzIMG_0139-horzIMG_0144-horzI chose Monroe’s Red for my nail color. Sab had this unique mermaid-y shade (I forgot what it’s called) and it totally reminded me of Aquamarine! I really liked the way Esther (nail technician) cleaned and pampered my nails. I mean, the whole process of it was just smooth and painless! Except for the time when she massaged my arms and twisted my bad wrist (that was an ouch moment—I can’t do proper push-ups for days now and it’s become worse after that twist) Nevertheless, I loved the mint scent of the lotion she used on me. Plus, she did such an awesome job with my nails! Perfect-o like 100%! No chips, no colors “out of the lines” whatsoever. It was predictable that I’d choose red for my nail color—red has always been my favorite. They use nail polishes from Orly and The Face Shop, so we totally don’t have any problem with quality! Esther used a quick dry top coat so my nails were fully dry after a good 10-15 minutes or so.IMG_0124I went to the counter to pay up. That’s PHP 180.00 for the service I had, plus three more 180.00’s but with 50% off each. We all had cleaning+nail polish. Paid PHP 450.00 all in all. We all went home with happy nails…DSC01944-horzBefore leaving, we had our photos taken at the Nail It! Photo Wall right outside the venue by the buffet table. Sab and I got the chance to chat with the owner of Nail It, Miss Jean Uvero and I found out that they’re going to be opening a branch along Espana—which is freaking amazing! I’m thinking of giving away two free services to two lucky readers. Stay tuned!

Etude House Proof 10 Makeup Fixer Review

This is going to be a review on Etude House’s Proof 10 Makeup Fixer.
“Etude House’s Proof 10 Makeup Fixer contains oil absorbent powder and Baby Brier Extract to curb facial oil and shine while Alpine Glacial Water and Aloe Vera supplies minerals and moisture to the face.”
So basically this product fights oil and shine throughout the whole day. This product is perfect for people with oily skin since with just one spritz, your face will look fresh and mattified.
In the video review (embedded down below) you will be able to see me use the product itself and see the effects of this makeup fixer.
Let’s breeze through its pros:
  1. Easy to apply
  2. Visibly reduces oil and shine on the face (especially the T-zone) in just a few seconds
  3. Perfect mate for people with oily skin
  4. Makes your makeup look more fresh
  5. Lightweight and compact
Now for the cons:
  1. You may have to hold your breath when you spray since the scent can harsh to the nose
This product only costs PHP 348.00.
Available in all leading Etude House branches, unless out of stock.
I recommend everyone to try this product out especially my readers from the Philippines since it tends to become really hot and humid in our country.
I give this product 9.5 out of 10 stars. It’s totally worth trying and I' honestly see myself using this for the next months.

Etude House Eye and Lip Makeup Remover Review

HPIM2114
I finally found time to review this eye and lip makeup remover from Etude House. First off, this eye and lip makeup remover looks just like the other makeup removers out there--with the separated oil and solution (blue and clear part). I immediately tried this out the night of the day that I purchased it (Etude House Opening Party), since I have also ran out of my Maybelline Eye and Lip Makeup Remover. I can very much say that this makeup remover will be used by me for at least the next 10 months or longer. I am very impressed by it. Let us breeze through it’s good points:
  1. Does not sting the eyes at all
  2. 100 ml for PHP 198.00 only
  3. Removes stubborn makeup in just a few wipes (demo shown in the vlog embedded down below)
  4. Great packaging
  5. Will last up to 3+ months depending on frequency of use
Comparing it to the Maybelline Eye and Lip Makeup Remover:
Maybelline Eye and Lip Makeup Remover:
  • 70 ml for PHP 199.00
Etude House Eye and Lip Makeup Remover:
  • 100ml for PHP 198.00
That’s 30ml more for a peso cheaper. And both works just the same!
I personally recommend this makeup remover to all of you. This is available in all leading Etude House branches.

░ Event: Etude House Opening Party ░

I was invited to the Etude House Opening Party last May 2, 2011 by Char, the owner of Shopsui and Skin Hour. The event was held at SM Megamall, Mega B Ground Floor. I met up with Char and Ann at around 1:30PM, there were only three of us since the other beauty bloggers that Char invited couldn't make it due to unforeseen circumstances. Etude House was pretty packed when we came in. Nevertheless we were able to shop around.

For some reason, I kept calling Ann, "Hazel". It was so funny!
An hour passed before I realized I was calling her the wrong name! Sorry Ann!!!
Ann and Char were like the perfect shopping partners! I felt like I was in a girls' day out of some sort! It was really fun picking out products with them. We each had Etude House's little pink basket (which I actually thought was too small, especially when you'll be picking up boxes or hairsprays)
This is Char! She's the sweetest person ever! Would you believe she's married?! She looks so young, right?
I love to call her Achi Char! She can pass for my sister!
I picked up quite a few stuff (I actually did a haul video on it, but the video is yet to be uploaded) and went over my budget. I never actually splurged on Etude House products before, but during the opening, Etude House just seemed to have everything! I actually left a few stuff to buy, and I'll be coming back for them!

This is particularly my favorite area. See those Tangerine Cream Blush? Ahhhh...they're heaven!
AND not to mention those blushes and highlighters!
Who would forget the nail polishes?

The famous Bubble Hair Coloring!!! I was soooo surprised to see a full shelf stacked!
Actually thought twice on buying, but I ended up with two boxes!
(Did you know they are sold for a higher price in the internet?)
The famous BB's!

The eye-catching Miss Tangerine line.
What I particularly LOVE about this line is the veiling powder and the cream blush!
Why hello there, Lee Min Ho

My shopping buddies!

Beautiful Ann!

The girl on the right was sweet enough to carry my basket for me when
I was about to pay! They were reaaally nice!

What I hauled from Etude House :)
Etude House had this fun roulette game at the counter. All my purchases summed up to P1,500.00 so I had 3 chances on the roulette! I missed the first two, but I was able to get a free Lee Min Ho Diary on my third try! Along with that, EH also gave freebies.

I also finally got my Pink Membership card! I haven't really gone through the whole reading about what the card does, but I'm pretty sure it's all about % off's!

Here she is, the happy shopper!
After shopping, we were able to get free nail art service! Talk about being pampered!

I asked her to smile! She's really really nice.
She did a gradient effect on my nails. I forgot what this is called. But I like it so much!
Here's the nail dryer--really cute!

Ann getting her nails done :)
Beautiful Achi Char!

Almost done with the nails!
Before we left, the Natural Brown Bubble Hair Coloring shade was all OUT!
This was such a fun day. I went home a happy lady.
Thank you so much to Char for inviting me!
Check out their blogs here:
P.S. Char gave me wonderful Skin Hour and Shopsui products! I'll be doing a review very soon! And please stay tuned on my Etude House Haul coming up next...
